Shortcuts & card details
Space show answer → next card · D next · A previous in All selected cards · W question · S flip. 1/2/3 optionally rate after revealing. Holding a key does not race through cards. When a button has keyboard focus, Space activates that button.
Rate the answer you produced before revealing. Partial = an essential gap or help needed. Recalled = the essential points and justification without help. For a question with several parts, consider all the required parts.
A model gives one possible response, not a script to memorize. Meet the question’s requested scope: if it asks for two examples, two well-explained examples can satisfy that request even when the model offers more. Support literary interpretations with a precise textual detail and explain its effect.
Click the selected rating again to clear it; choose another to change it. The same applies to keys 1/2/3.
How revision and returning work
Read an explanation first when the material is unfamiliar. Then answer without looking, reveal, compare the checkpoints and correct a specific gap. A good paraphrase can be enough; IPA symbols and grammatical distinctions may need precision. Try a fresh example as well as remembering this card.
All selected cards includes every selected card, regardless of due date. Rate some attempts and leave others ungraded in the same flow. Flipping, moving, searching and shuffling never create a rating. You can use Space continuously.
Scheduled returns chooses cards using the spacing rules below. Ratings are optional here too. In either order, only an explicit rating updates recall history; a slow answer, reveal or skip records nothing. Feedback stays visible until you move on.
Across days: Missed returns after 10 minutes; Partial after 1 day. Recalled starts at 1 day and can progress through 3, 7, 14 and 30 days. A repeat advances that ladder only after at least 3 other distinct rated cards or 24 hours. These are practice rules, not a prediction of what you remember.
This session: a card becomes eligible after 3 other distinct ratings for Missed, 5 for Partial or 8 for Recalled. Flips and skips do not fill those gaps. If the selection is too small, choose more topics or browse; the rule is not silently shortened.
“Recalled after a gap” counts your reported successes under those rules. It does not certify mastery or check whether you used other help. Confidence is recorded separately and does not alter the outcome.
Save or move flashcard history
History stays in this browser. Export it to keep a backup or move it to another device. Import merges attempts and preserves newer rating corrections. Draft answers and ungraded browsing activity are not included.
